The world is going virtual – there is no denying that and Software Developers are the builders of the modern day. Unfortunately, it is not enough to have programming skills. Modern tech stack
New Languages, framework, technologies – often relates to less tested software. I’m tired of reimplementing the same things. Code is verified with the number of times it has been executed on production. The newer frameworks have less production record in the bag. Developers are tricked by the marketing of shiny technologies. It is packaging in more colorful language the means of work – with the old concepts in newer labels. That creates digital work factories instead of freedom, relax and humanity.
Too many choices
The tech you don’t know in your development area may be the reason to pay you less or not give you a raise, because you’ve wasted time in the details. The negotiating in the corporate world is a very tricky business. Nobody could know everything and that you don’t know could be the tiny small stone to derail your train out of success. The Evolution of the Servers
Cloud means – someone else’s computer. I am scared of how my colleagues around the world are tricked into cool technologies that delegate all code, data, application code to the big companies. Yes, they provide tools to speed up development and take care of a lot of layers. But the Big Brothers could read, see & control everything – even without you knowing it. And when the time comes, the trap closes – with fees, restrictions, policies, ban or deleted content of the inconvenient.
Freelancing
Flexible working time – you’ll probably work after midnight. Yes, you could go out during the day and finish some side work and you are not bound to an office. Working without schedule could become a mess. The end result is again – not your property.
